Choosing a kids' mattress by age

A newborn and any child under three needs a flat, firm surface: the spine is still forming and the mattress must not sag under a light body. Take a foam-based model with a coconut coir layer and put the child on the firm side. For a 3–7 year old the same mattress works flipped over — the latex or PU foam side gives a little more comfort on the same flat base. A teenager who already weighs as much as an adult should move to an adult mattress: medium-firm foam, or a model with a PocketSpring 256 or MultiPocket 512 pocket spring unit — our Hard and Mega lines take up to 170 kg per sleeping place.

Why babies get coir and the firm side

Coconut coir (from Belgium and Malaysia) holds its shape, does not compress under a small body and lets air through, so moisture never builds up under the child. In our kids' mattresses the coir layer sits on one side and the other side is softer — latex from Belgium or PU foam made in Kazakhstan. One mattress therefore lasts several years: firm side first, soft side later. We have been making them ourselves since 2007 at our own workshop in Boraldai, and the full composition is listed on every product page.

Sizes for a child's bed

Measure the inside of the bed frame — the mattress has to fit with no gap, otherwise the edge sags and the sheets slide off. Our standard range has eight sizes from 80×200 to 200×200, and 80×200 is the usual choice for a child's room. If the bed is smaller or a non-standard shape, we build to your measurements, which adds 1–2 days. The finished mattress rolls up, so it fits into a standard lift and up a narrow staircase.

Hygiene, price and lead time

A mattress cannot be washed, so put a mattress topper on it from day one: the topper comes off and goes in the machine while the mattress itself stays clean — with children that is the whole care routine. This section has two kids' models, priced from 42 800 to 129 100 ₸ depending on size and filling. Production takes 3–5 working days; items in stock go out the next day. Delivery within Almaty is free and our own courier carries the mattress up and brings it to the bed; you can pay by Kaspi, bank transfer to the company account, or cash to the courier in Almaty. Before buying you are welcome to come and lie on the mattress in our showroom: ARMADA mall, Kabdolova 1/8, block 2, row 6, unit 14a, open daily 10:00–20:00. The guarantee runs from 1 to 5 years depending on the model, with a service life of up to 12 years.
